Android Texter ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Android Texter mobile application and the androidtexter.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, and your name if you give us one. There are two ways in: Google sign-in, which gives us the name and email address on your Google account, or a 6-digit code we email to you, which gives us only the address you typed.
When you ask for a sign-in code we store a one-way hash of the code, the address it was sent to, and the IP address and browser that asked for it. That is what stops a code being reused or guessed. The record is deleted within 24 hours; the code itself expires in 10 minutes and we never store it.
When Android Texter is set as your default SMS application, we receive and process SMS and MMS messages on your device. Message content is transmitted to our servers via encrypted HTTPS connections to enable cloud sync and web dashboard access. Messages are stored securely and associated with your account.
We collect device identifiers, phone number, battery level, and connection status for paired Android devices. This information is used to manage device connectivity and message routing.
With your permission, we access your device contacts to display contact names in conversations. Contact data is synced to our servers to enable the web dashboard experience.
We collect anonymous usage analytics including message counts, feature usage, and app performance metrics to improve our service.
When you first visit our website, your browser remembers the page that linked you here (without its query string), the first page you landed on, and any campaign tags in the link. If you then create an account, we save that with your account, along with your answer if you tell us how you heard about us. We use it only to learn which of our channels work.
All data is transmitted using TLS/HTTPS encryption. Your data is stored on secure servers with access controls and encryption at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information.
We may send you two categories of email:
Every marketing email contains a one-click unsubscribe link that does not require sign-in. We honor opt-out requests immediately and retain a timestamped record of your consent state for compliance purposes (US CAN-SPAM Act § 7704; EU GDPR Article 7).
We use Mailgun to deliver email. Mailgun processes only the data necessary to send your email (your email address, the message content, and delivery metadata). Their privacy policy is available at mailgun.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing the use of your information.
Active accounts: messages, contacts, and account data are retained for as long as your account is active.
Inactive accounts: if you do not log in for 60 days, you will receive a warning email. At 90 days of inactivity, your account is soft-deleted (marked as deleted but recoverable if you log in within 30 more days). At 120 days of inactivity, the account and all associated personal data are permanently deleted from our active database. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics may be retained.
You may request immediate deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected] from the address on file. Upon request, all identifiable data is removed within 30 days.
To delete your Android Texter account and all associated data:
Do it yourself: sign in and open Security & Preferences, then Delete your account. You confirm by typing your email address, and the account and its data are removed immediately, including messages archived when a phone was unlinked and every picture in our file storage. A paid plan is cancelled at the same time. We send a confirmation email and keep no copy, so it cannot be undone.

To delete some data without closing your account: remove a phone under Devices in your dashboard. The phone and its messages disappear from your account at once. By default a recovery copy of that phone's messages and pictures is held for 30 days, in case the wrong phone was unlinked, and is then deleted automatically. You have three ways to end that sooner: tick Also delete this phone's messages and pictures now in the removal dialog, use Delete it now on the Security & Preferences page, which lists exactly what is being held, or delete your account, which removes it as well. Deleting a single conversation, from the app or the dashboard, deletes its messages and its pictures and keeps no copy at all. You can also email [email protected] and tell us what to remove. Uninstalling the app from your phone stops syncing but does not delete data already in your account; use one of the steps above.

We do not use SMS permissions for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the core messaging functionality of the app.
Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
